Lundy Old Light, Island of Lundy, Bristol Channel

Lundy is an island in the Bristol Channel north of Devon. Since the islands coast line is rugged and difficult to approach. So in 1819 Trinity House decided to build a lighthouse on Chapel Hill. The optic flashed so quickly that it was mistaken for the fixed light at Cherbourg. The lighthouse was abandoned in 1897 and two new towers built on the north and south end of the island.
